Play Structure

all times in Pacific
this lab is on Zoom

In this workshop, we’ll look at excerpts from several contemporary American plays to see how the playwrights structure their plays. Do they follow the traditional Aristotelian structure, or are they breaking convention and telling their story with a different framework?

How can we purposefully use structure to help us tell our own plays? We’ll discuss how to get started and how to edit with structure in mind.
