Our 2nd issue will be published in early 2027.
Guidelines for Written Submissions
Performance writing means texts written with live audience in mind. This can include plays, monologues, spoken word, poetry, opera, musicals, speeches, presentations, sketch comedy, and anything meant to be performed live.
All submissions must be original, unpublished work written by the writer. We are not accepting at this time any work that has been conceived in any way with the use of AI.
Submit only through this form. No other forms of submissions will be accepted.
Up to 12 pages per piece.
Play scripts must include a separate page with character descriptions and any other needed info (this does not count toward the 12-page limit).
Word doc, 1" margins all around, Times New Roman, 12 pt, page numbers
Save your file as the title of your piece; make sure your name is not in the file name and delete everything else (draft #s, dates, "Scrib Mag submission," etc.). ex: The Devil and Billy Markham
All submissions must be blind; make sure your name does not appear anywhere on the text.
Artwork Submissions
Artwork can include drawings, paintings, photographs, and doodles. Cover art can be color, inside art must be black and white. Please consider how your art work is in conversation with performance. Also, we love doodles that come from notebooks and journals. All artwork must be submitted as an image file, and any photos of artwork (i.e. of doodles from journals) should be crisp, clear, and high res.
Upon Acceptance
By accepting any offer of publication, the writer will grant Scrib Mag first serial rights. Upon publication, rights to the work revert back to the writer. The writer retains all other rights to the work. Any subsequent publication will note that the work was first published in Scrib Mag.
Compensation
Payment for publication in Scrib Mag is one contributor’s copy in which the work appear.
