WEiRD PLAYS

Catherine is an applied theatre artist, making performance work created through participatory processes. Specifically, as a writer, director, media designer, and facilitator working in theatre and film she has developed her practice as part of the Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab, as a Creative Community Fellow at National Arts Strategies, and as a certified facilitator of Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process. She is a recent alum of Company One’s PlayLab Unit where she developed her latest play, You, Me, and the Woodsmoke, which was named a finalist for Bloomington Play Project's 2022 Woodward/Newman Award. She has a BA Honours in Theatre and Performance from the University of Leeds, where she was awarded the White Rose Scholarship for Enterprise for her work in developing sustainable creative economies, and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Goddard College. Miriam (she|her) is a Seattle-based playwright and theatre artist. She has performed on stages and has taught drama to youth across the US and Europe. She founded MBCT; Modern But Classical Theatre in NYC to de- and re-construct classic plays into highly physical adaptations. Her play The War of Women received a roundtable reading at The Lark, and several of her shorts have premiered at Goddard College’s Ten-Minute Play festival. Awards include a PEN Writing Scholarship, the Newington-Cropsey Fellowship, and the London Dramatic Academy Fellowship. Miriam was the fall 2020 Editor-in-Chief of The Pitkin Review and is currently a drama editor with The Clockhouse. Her work appears in multiple issues of The Pitkin and Smith & Kraus. She was a semi-finalist for Pipeline Theatre's 2021-22 PlayLab and a 2021 writer-in-residence at Hedgebrook.

AMY DESROSiERS plays Angie in DARK & ČERNÝ.

Amy is a theatre artist and community organizer based in New Hampshire. She recently performed in Women Playing Hamlet and Kate Hamill's Pride & Prejudice at New Hampshire Theatre Project and you can see her as Abbie in the series Content on Amazon Prime.

HEATHER OAKLEY plays Marja in DARK & ČERNÝ, Erin and Insider in OUTiDER.

Heather studied acting at Atlantic Acting School and taught there for many years. Favorite roles include Rosalind and Juror #8 and mother to Petra and Cy.

MATT RECiNE plays Baskar in DARK & ČERNÝ; Graham, Coach Riley, Jason in OUTSiDER.

Matt is an actor based in the greater seacoast area of New Hampshire and enjoys creating, devising and producing various types of work with his fellow theatre artists. Originally hailing from right outside New York City, he brings creativity and passion to all that he does, both on-stage and off.

MONiQUE PEASLEE FOOTS plays Erda in DARK & ČERNÝ, Helen in OUTSiDER.

Monique is a professional actor who has been creating theater since she was five years old. She holds an MA in Applied Theater from New York University and a BA in performance from New England College. She is most energized when employing her imagination whether on stage or with her son Leo and husband, Zachary.

SAMANTHA BOWEN plays Kae in OUTSiDER.

Samantha is an Actress, and Producer based out of NYC. Recently seen in The Undesirables opposite Jason Mewes and Mooch directed by Richard Kline. Thank you to Catherine Stewart for this opportunity. @itssambowen
